Promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion with Level Up Village

As our students are growing up in a diverse and multicultural world, it is essential to have a curriculum that prioritizes and incorporates the experiences, perspectives, and cultures of diverse communities. This helps students develop an understanding, appreciation, and respect of diversity and equips them with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to create a more just and equitable society.

Our goal at Level Up Village (LUV) is to provide resources and experiences that help promote diversity, equity, and inclusion with students as young as four years old. By giving students opportunities to collaborate with peers around the world, LUV’s courses are inclusive, culturally relevant, and foster a sense of belonging and respect among all students.

A culturally responsive curriculum

A culturally responsive curriculum is an educational approach that recognizes and values the cultural backgrounds and experiences of all students and incorporates these experiences into the teaching and learning process. This type of curriculum is designed to be inclusive, equitable, and culturally relevant. It recognizes that students come from diverse cultural backgrounds and acknowledges that these backgrounds can shape the ways in which students perceive, process, and respond to information. It also recognizes that students’ cultural experiences can impact their academic success and well-being and seeks to address these impacts in meaningful ways.

The goal of a culturally responsive curriculum is to help all students achieve academic success through a learning environment that is inclusive, equitable, and respectful.

Meeting the DEI goals with Level Up Village

LUV strongly believes in a curriculum that prioritizes and incorporates the experiences, perspectives, and cultures of diverse communities in all aspects of the educational process. By giving students opportunities to collaborate with peers around the world, LUV’s courses are culturally relevant and foster respect and empathy among all students and are designed to help equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to grow into global citizens. “LUV came to us at the perfect time. Finally, we had a program that was accessible to all, therefore offering an equitable, authentic project that the entire class could participate in,” said Gina Gallo, an Italian teacher from Bristol High School in Connecticut, whose Italian students connected with a classroom in Italy.

Diversity

By pairing classrooms together in countries all over the world, students have the opportunity to engage with others from different geographical, religious, cultural, economic, racial, ability, and gender backgrounds. These partnerships are championed by LUV’s international partners who are committed to supporting global education.

Equity

All students participating in LUV exchanges experience the benefits of global collaboration, technology, and high-quality learning materials regardless of where they are in the world. We provide the resources when and where they are needed.

Inclusion

LUV’s student-focused courses promote the integration of marginalized and underrepresented students and foster a welcoming, supportive environment that encourages participation and equal opportunity.

We are proud to offer courses that are inclusive, equitable, and culturally relevant, and foster a sense of belonging and respect among all students. To learn more or request a demo, please contact us.
